The Surgery is over subscribed or poor booking system is high percentage of registered patients are always sick! Had to wait three weeks fir an appointment, when dr asked to see me to review medication, only to be told no appointments at all fir doctor that wanted to see me. Asked to randomly call in to see if cancellation or future appointments in system. Booked telephone appointment 10 days later earliest I could get even though run out of tablets. Tried to call to cancel another apoointment was 14 in call and had to wait 20 mins to CANCEL an apoointment, sure most sound have given up and just not turned up. Apoointment booking system DOES NOT work, change to turn up no appointment sure will work better for people who are genuinely I'll on days needed. Or need more forward apoointment or staff. Poor receptionists must feel helpless and and de moralised. Agree when finally get to doctors and nurses etc seem to be very helpful.

May I start by saying that I have received good care from Dr Philippa Parson today. The reason I had an appointment today, was because I had seen another doctor 6 wks before who had failed to contact as promised, regarding a change of medication,as such I was left without. This I had tried to remedy, first by phone,10 mins after being Number 1 in a queue of one I gave up and walked there.I was told I could have a phone appointment, but my doctor was not be available that week, and the following week she was on holiday, but I was on my file that the doctor would ring me.As a safe guard I made the first available appointment with any Doctor, which was for 5 weeks time. I'm lucky that the med were just a statin although I could of had a heart attack but never mind.Nobody came back to me and I gave up trying to get through. I've no need to go to the other problems at that surgery as they are well documented ,and I do realised that doctors are under an enormous amount of pressure but come on Glenlyn get your act together,us patients are worried about getting to see a doctor,we signed up for a local pratice and are now told to use Thames Ditton,do you think we all drive or can afford cabs, you are isolating people and if we are not careful we will lose caring Dr's like Phillipa Parson. How much longer can we go on taking more patients into our practice when they are unable to handle what they have and should they start moving Molesey hospital clinics in there there will be no hope for any of us.

Response from Glenlyn Medical Centre

Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment. We would like to express our concern on hearing of your experience. We continually strive to develop the level of care for our patients. We do have a dedicated Urgent Care Clinic for appointments on the day. The Urgent Care Clinic is sit-and-wait at the Giggs Hill branch, where there is large onsite car park and a spacious waiting room. Our clinicians make every effort for patients to be seen within an hour. This Clinic caters for sudden problems like sore throats, rashes and fevers. Patients have access to experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners who can diagnose and prescribe for these conditions, just like doctors. They are also able to direct complex cases to doctors at the surgery if needed. A small number of appointments will be available at Glenlyn for frail and elderly patients who are genuinely unable to travel to Giggs Hill. Nationally, we are seeing an increase in demand for GP appointments and we are also experiencing this locally, which means we are busier than ever. We have a full-time Practice Nurse who joined our team at the beginning of May, and two Doctors who have recently joined the Practice. We continue to undertake recruitment to extend the team further. We are also expanding our administration team and providing them with additional training to help improve how we work as a Practice. If you would like to contact the surgery direct in writing, this will allow us to investigate further. Your observations will be used as part of our staff training, in order to develop the standard of care and level of service we provide.

I went to collect a prescription after taking in hospital forms three days previous only to find no trace of my paperwork. Had to go home to get copy to give it to them again. Tried to get an appointment as consultant told me to see my GP as I might need antibiotics after biopsy that was on 5th April earliest appointment I could get is 24th April. This surgery used to be so good when the old doctors were there. If I could move doctors I would.

This Clinic caters for sudden problems like sore throats, rashes and fevers. By ringing either Glenlyn (0208 979 3253) or Giggs Hill (0208 398 8619), routine GP and nurse appointments can be booked at either location that you choose. You can call and ask for a ‘prebookable appointment’ at any time. There is a rolling programme of releasing ‘prebookable appointments’, so that there are appointments available daily. The majority of appointments are released at 8 am and do go very quickly despite the high number of appointments we have to offer. We also have the facility to book certain routine appointments online. In order for patients to take advantage of this facility, they would need to visit the Practice for this to be arranged for them. Nationally, we are seeing an increase in demand for GP appointments and we are also experiencing this locally, which means we are busier than ever. We would like to express our concern regarding your prescription as our policy is for prescriptions to take 3 full working days. If you would like to contact the surgery in writing, we will be able to investigate further. We appreciate your feedback and your observations will be used as part of our staff training, in order to improve the standard of care and level of service we provide.

It's been my GP's clinic for almost 6 years and it get worse by the year. Disorganised, unprofessional, the GP's seem to change daily and the waiting list can be ridiculous. equally you'll have to ring 4 or 5 times every hour to actually get an answer... if you live close enough to another clinic then take my advice and choose them

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We apologise if our service did not meet your expectations, and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. We continually strive to provide a consistently reliable service and an excellent level of patient care. We fully understand your comments concerning continuity. Although patients may not see the same GP at each visit, the patient’s records are available at the time of their appointment. We do always try to offer appointments with the same GP but unfortunately this is not always possible. We also have the facility to book appointments online. To take advantage of this, please visit the Practice for this to be arranged for you. We do have a dedicated Urgent Care Clinic for appointments on the day.
